A Little Bit Irish
vest & long sleeve tee: Old Navy ($14 & $8ish, respectively) ~ skirt: Goodwill ($8) ~ boots: Ann Klein via Macy's ($115) ~ necklace: gift

Ensemble message: Hey everyone! I took the day off for a long ski weekend, but wanted to share what I wore last Thursday. It happened to be St. Patrick's Day, and I happen to be a little bit Irish, so I incorporated a little bit of green into my outfit. I really liked the results, but then realized later that afternoon that the whole look worked better if I zipped up my vest. I wish I figured that out first thing in the morning!! Oh well, as usual fashion is a constant work in progress for me ;)
I also wanted to give a warm hello to new readers and Twitter followers! I promise that my posts are usually more consistent... transitioning roles at The Day Job has proven to be quite the challenge. The balancing act will be worth it - at least it's a temporary craziness. Also, I love hearing from you in the comments! I promise to reply back to most of the comments left. Happy Monday and I hope you all have a great week!

Classic Blazer
blazer: BCBG via Macy's ($55) ~ shirt: The Hubby's ~ jeans: Target ($14) ~ shoes: Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Rack ($100) ~ necklace: Free People (gift) ~ earrings: gift
Ensemble message: This past Friday was my last day in the office before going away for a week. I needed to be productive, but my brain was already trying to check out. I think my outfit is a reflection of this: classic black blazer paired with a relaxed-fit plaid shirt. Skinny jeans paired with tall, edgy booties. And my newest statement necklace, which has been getting a lot of love lately!

Inspired: The Style Sample
shirt: The Hubby's ~ skirt: thrifted via Goodwill ($8) ~ shoes: Marc Fischer via Macy's ($35) ~ necklace: Free People (gift)

Ensemble message: As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, one of my resolutions is to put myself out there more and take risks. Because I did not have any big-time meetings, I figured why not wear something a little outside of my comfort zone. Personally, I think wearing almost head-to-toe plaid is a pretty brave move! I first created this look last week after seeing this post by Tamia of The Style Sample. While I didn't outright copycat her with double plaid shirts and an ankle grazing skirt, I am probably on the verge of plagiarism ;) But, I'm giving credit where credit is due! So thank you Tamia, I just discovered your blog a couple months ago but it has become a source of constant inspiration.
I almost wore this outfit last week only because I knew that my office would be a ghost town. But then I forced myself to put it aside for when everyone was back from their holiday vacations. After all, it’s not really risky if no one sees you, right? If I was a bit nervous as I drove into work, all that disappeared when I finished taking pictures. So, I held my head high and barely noticed any odd looks I may have gotten! I am very proud of myself and want to see what other brave outfits I can come up with. What risks do you want to see yourself taking??
